The academic program at Canyon Christian Academy places an emphasis on every aspect of our student’s growth and development. We take advantage of the natural curiosity students possess by having our teachers present new information in creative ways and teach through exploratory experiences.
Our general curriculum includes a variety of challenging courses that exceed state requirements. POSITIVE SELF IMAGE
Positive self image is essential to the students academic success and emotional growth. Our staff actively strives to develop an atmosphere for students that highlight their talents and special abilities. At CCA students are praised for their individual accomplishments and academic goals that have been met.
SOCIAL SKILLS AND DEVELOPMENT
CCA directs a major endeavor to help shape a generation that will be generous, kind, sensitive and confident from a biblical perspective. Students participate in group discussion, concerning bullying, community and friendships. It is the belief of CCA that by introducing these topics early, students will become leaders in their communities and be positive examples to their peers, and those they may encounter throughout life.
LOVE FOR LEARNING AND CRITICAL THINKING STUDENTS
We believe that a truly successful student is one who not only enjoys learning but develops a love for it. At CCA the curriculum is designed to create an enjoyable fun experience. Students value their studies, not only as a means to attain good marks, but also to pursue knowledge in all subject areas.
MASTER TEACHERS-DEDICATED TO STUDENTS
Teachers employed at CCA have a wide variety of experience ranging from Private School education to Public Schools. All Teachers are certified, and have completed a degree in Elementary Education. Most importantly teachers are dedicated to teach students, before teaching subject matter. The Teachers at CCA strive to identify the unique qualities of each student and build upon those qualities. Students are challenged to present quality work, and achieve academic excellence.
ENHANCING EDUCATION WITH TECHNOLOGY
CCA incorporates technology in every subject area. Students become familiar with technology and learn how to apply it for school work, accessing and applying information, problem solving and communicating ideas and data. Students also learn information accessing, analyzing, interpreting, applying and communication skills that allow them to become independent software users.
Standards
The CCA educational program emphasizes standards based mastery. Great importance is placed on the language arts, reading comprehension, the writing process, and vocabulary development as well as on math concepts. While reading and literature programs form the foundation for the development of verbal skills, the project-oriented science and social studies curricula help awaken intellectual curiosity and open young minds to the joys of intellectual pursuit.
